About
Oluniyi David Ajao is a global technology entrepreneur and investor with over 22 years of experience building and scaling ventures across cloud hosting, digital media, and internet infrastructure. He founded Web4Africa in Accra in 2002, growing it into one of Africa's leading domain registrars and web hosting companies before its successful acquisition by HOSTAFRICA in 2024.
A former ICANN-accredited registrar operator and active participant in the global DNS ecosystem, he has been featured in publications including Vanguard, TechCabal, Techpoint Africa, Disrupt Africa, and Benzinga.
I have been building for the web since 2002, when I registered my first domain and started a hosting company from Accra, Ghana. What began as a one-person operation grew into Web4Africa, serving over 60,000 customers in 150+ countries, entirely bootstrapped with zero external funding.
Along the way, I spent five years as a contributor to Global Voices (2006–2011), writing about technology and digital culture in Africa. Today I'm building AFRICLOUD, a next-generation cloud infrastructure company, while continuing to share insights through TECH.AFRICA.
I work across South Africa, South America, and southern Europe, and I'm always open to speaking engagements, advisory roles, and meaningful collaboration.

Philosophy
I believe in building things that last. Every venture I have started has been self-funded, because real resilience comes from discipline, creativity, and a deep connection to the customer from day one.
Two decades of entrepreneurship have taught me that survival matters more than hype. I have weathered economic downturns, infrastructure failures, and market shifts. Each one made the business stronger. Web4Africa ran for 22 years before its acquisition. Real value compounds over time, and patience is the most underrated entrepreneurial skill.
Through ICANN mentorship, conference speaking, and working with founders, I try to contribute to the ecosystems that enabled my own journey. The best returns come from lifting others as you climb.
